edEx Corp has announced the creation of a specialized Life Sciences division, consolidating its pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics expertise into a single, focused organization aimed at addressing the complex demands of the global healthcare supply chain.

The strategic move positions the logistics giant to capture a larger share of the estimated $80 billion healthcare transportation market, which continues to show strong growth potential driven by rising demand for biologics, clinical trials, vaccines, and advanced therapies.

Chief Commercial Officer Brie Carere highlighted the significance of the new division, noting the unique requirements of life sciences shipments.

“Life sciences shipments, including vaccines, tissue and blood samples, and gene and protein therapies, are among the most sensitive and heavily regulated categories in global logistics,” Carere said.

“In this space, speed, precision, temperature control, and supply chain visibility consistently outweigh price as deciding factors for customers.”

The new division integrates capabilities from across FedEx’s parcel and supply chain operations to deliver seamless, end-to-end solutions for companies shipping pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biologics, and other critical healthcare products.

This integrated approach is expected to enhance reliability and compliance for customers operating in highly regulated environments.
