he future of supply chain is being shaped by collaboration, technology and data, according to Adeola Oduntan, General Manager, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Management, and Opco Chief Procurement Officer at MTN Nigeria.
Speaking after the company’s annual Supplier Forum, which brought together more than 300 suppliers and partners under the theme “Supplier Collaboration in a Digital Age: Leveraging Automation, AI & Big Data Analytics,” Oduntan said the conversations reinforced a clear reality for the industry.

Digital transformation, he noted, is no longer simply about adopting new technologies. It is about how organisations use technology, data and innovation to strengthen partnerships, improve decision-making, unlock efficiencies and create sustainable value across the supply chain.
“Our suppliers remain an integral part of our ability to deliver on our ambitions,” Oduntan said. “By working together and embracing solutions powered by automation, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics, we can build supply chains that are more agile, transparent, resilient and ready for what lies ahead.”

He described the forum as a practical demonstration of that partnership in action. The depth of engagement, and the willingness of the supplier community to share ideas, challenge conventional approaches and explore new possibilities, was particularly encouraging, he said.
Oduntan also acknowledged the role of the company’s Chief Financial Officer, who declared the forum open, and thanked suppliers, partners and the internal team responsible for delivering the gathering.
“The future is digital. The opportunity is collaborative,” he said. “Together, we are building what comes next.”
