The programme, officiated by KMA Director General CPA Omae Nyarandi, has been arranged in partnership with Express Shipping and Logistics (EA) Ltd in Mombasa.
It is designed to provide participating officers with hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of the shipping and logistics industry, complementing their formal orientation with real-world insight into how maritime trade functions at an operational level.
By immersing newly recruited officers in live industry environments, the programme seeks to deepen their technical understanding of the sector and sharpen their capacity to execute KMA's regulatory and facilitative mandate more effectively.
The initiative reflects the Authority's recognition that strong regulatory oversight of the maritime sector must be grounded in a thorough appreciation of the commercial and operational realities that industry players navigate daily.
The partnership with Express Shipping & Logistics positions Mombasa, East Africa's primary maritime gateway, as the backdrop for this practical learning, giving officers direct exposure to one of the region's most active shipping and logistics environments.
