anessa Addy has commenced her National Service as Personnel in the Procurement department at Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC in Achimota, Greater Accra Region.

In a statement marking the start of her new role, Addy said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as National Service Personnel, Procurement at Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC!”

The appointment places her within one of Ghana’s leading beverage manufacturing companies, where she will gain hands-on experience in procurement operations.

The role forms part of the country’s National Service scheme, which places graduates in organisations to build practical skills and contribute to national development.

Addy brings prior professional exposure from a short internship at Consolidated Bank Ghana, where she assisted customers with complaint resolution, supported the processing of cheques and deposits, helped create new customer accounts, and participated in the issuance of credit cards.

The experience gave her early insight into customer service and operational processes within a financial institution. During her time at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), she served as a student representative.

In that capacity she acted as a liaison between students and faculty, relayed academic concerns, coordinated feedback, and maintained accurate minutes of meetings to ensure effective follow-up. The role strengthened her communication, organisational, and advocacy skills.

Earlier, at Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School, Addy held dual leadership positions as Girls’ Prefect and Secretary of the French Club. As Girls’ Prefect she represented the female student body, addressed their concerns, and helped promote a respectful and inclusive school environment while supporting the supervision of assemblies, prep sessions, and events. As Secretary she documented discussions, recorded action points, and assisted in coordinating club activities and cultural programmes.

Her progression from student leadership roles through a banking internship to her current National Service placement at Guinness Ghana Breweries reflects a steady development of organisational, communication, and operational capabilities. The procurement role is expected to further broaden her understanding of supply-chain and commercial functions within a major industrial setting.
